Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has declared his government readiness to host the 63rd Nigeria National Committee Meeting of the West African Examinations Council.
Mr Otti made the declaration on Tuesday when he received a delegation led by the Branch Controller of WAEC, Mrs Mary Chima.
Otti who thanked WAEC for choosing the state for the meeting, assured the delegation of his preparedness to host the event.
“We thank WAEC for the choice of Abia. We already have a receipt of your letter and have started making arrangements.
“We can assure you that we are prepared to host. We consider it a great privilege to be hosting this year’s event.
“I assure you that we will put everything ready to receive you and to ensure that you have a memorable event here in Abia,” Otti said.
The West African Examinations Council is West Africa’s foremost examining board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.
