The Federal Government has declared Friday public holiday to mark the 2025 Eid-ul-Mawlid and commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Wednesday in Abuja, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to reflect on the virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion exemplified by the Prophet.
“These values remain essential in building a united, prosperous, and progressive nation,” he said.
The Minister further called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to pray for peace, security, and stability in the country while supporting government efforts toward national harmony and sustainable development.
