Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has resigned from his position, citing health reasons.
His resignation comes hours after Northern governors and traditional rulers ended an emergency security meeting in Kaduna.
Mr Baduru in his resignation letter, cited poor health as the reason for stepping down.
According to a statement on Monday by President BolaTinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President has accepted the resignation and expressed gratitude for the minister’s service to the nation.
