The United States on Friday condemned in strong terms the killing of over 300 people in Tuesday terrorists attack on Kwara communities, describing it as “horrific” and “senseless violence”
In a statement posted via social media handles, the US Mission in Nigeria said
“The United States condemns the horrific attack in Kwara state in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of more than 160 people, with the death toll still unconfirmed and many still unaccounted for.”
The statement expressed US deepest condolence to the family of the victim, calling on the Nigerian government to immediately provide aid to the affected communities and ensure that those behind the act were brought to book
” We express our deepest condolences to the families of those affected by this senseless violence. We welcome President Tinubu’s order to deploy security forces to protect villages in the area and his directive to federal and state officials to provide aid to the community and bring the perpetrators of this atrocity to justice.”
Daily Intel reported that over 300 people were killed on Tuesday night following a deadly attack on Woro and Nuku communities in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State by Islamic militants.
The escalating attacks by Fulanis terrorists comes amid calls for the Donald trump’s administration intervention.
