Deputy governor Ibezim urges Anambra people to back Soludo for second term: “Let’s finish what we started” | By Daniel Nduka Okonkwo

As the people of Anambra State prepare to head to the polls on Saturday, November 8, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has called on all Anambarians to come out en masse and vote to return Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo to office, emphasizing that the administration deserves another four years to consolidate its achievements and complete its transformative agenda.

In an exclusive interview today with Daniel Nduka Okonkwo the publisher of Profiles International Human Rights Advocate, Dr. Ibezim expressed deep gratitude to God for granting the administration the strength and grace to campaign across all 21 local government areas of Anambra State, including multiple visits to several communities. He described the tour as “a divine mission made possible only by God’s grace and the unwavering support of the good people of Anambra State.”

“We thank the people of Anambra State for their confidence in His Excellency, Governor Charles Soludo, over the past four years,” Ibezim said. “This administration has demonstrated sincere dedication to service, and the results are visible across every sector from infrastructure and education to healthcare, digital innovation, and economic empowerment.”

The Deputy Governor highlighted that the Soludo-led administration has ushered in tangible development, improved governance, and strengthened inclusiveness. He described Governor Soludo as a visionary leader who genuinely cares for the people and has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

“This is a governor who loves his state and cares for everyone,” he continued. “He transcends class divisions, desires positive change, and has created an environment where both the poor and the rich coexist without visible discrimination. I speak sincerely when I say Anambra State is blessed with a man who has sworn with his life to change the destiny of every Anambra person giving hope to the poor and inspiration to the rich.”

Dr. Ibezim also reflected on the political rotation among the state’s three senatorial zones, urging fairness, continuity, and respect for equity in the power-sharing arrangement.

“The North has had its turn for eight years, followed by the Central for another eight. Now, the Southern zone has done four remarkable years under Governor Soludo, marked by unprecedented development. It is only just and logical to allow him to complete his second term to balance equity and sustain progress,” he emphasized.

On the upcoming election, the Deputy Governor noted that Governor Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will face Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other contenders. However, he expressed concern about the competence of some candidates, stressing that governance in a dynamic state like Anambra demands deep education, administrative experience, and a sound understanding of complex economic and social systems.

“The lack of literacy and inadequate educational qualifications among some aspirants is worrisome. Leadership demands competence, vision, and intellectual capacity especially in a state as sophisticated and forward-looking as Anambra,” he said.

Dr. Ibezim reiterated that the Anambra governorship election is not just a state affair but a decisive factor in Nigeria’s broader democratic landscape, given the state’s economic strength, industrious population, and intellectual vibrancy.

“Anambra’s progress contributes significantly to Nigeria’s overall well-being. This election is an opportunity for us to secure our collective future,” he noted. “If the good people of Anambra give this administration another mandate, I assure you Anambra State will never be the same again.”

The Deputy Governor further praised Governor Soludo’s visionary initiatives in digital governance, road infrastructure, urban renewal, youth empowerment, and the transformation of public schools and hospitals. Under Soludo’s leadership, Anambra has witnessed visible progress, transparency in public service, and a renewed sense of purpose.

“Governor Soludo is not just building roads he is building the future. He is not just reforming the economy he is redefining governance. He has given Anambra a new identity built on innovation, integrity, and inclusivity,” Ibezim affirmed.

Indeed, Soludo’s administration stands today as a model of progressive governance in Nigeria one rooted in vision, courage, and people-centered development. His reforms have attracted global attention, strengthened local enterprise, and restored faith in public leadership. With visible progress across multiple sectors and growing public confidence, the Soludo administration enters the election with a strong track record and a renewed commitment to deliver prosperity, stability, and dignity to all Anambarians.

As the Deputy Governor passionately appealed:

“Let us stand together and finish what we started. Let us vote for continuity, progress, and peace. Let us vote for Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo a man of integrity, vision, and steadfast commitment to the greatness of Anambra State.”

Governor Soludo remains not only the most prepared and competent candidate but also the representation of a modern Anambra that works for everyone. His leadership has rekindled hope and restored pride in what it means to be Anambarian. On November 8, the people of Anambra have the chance to secure their future by re-electing a proven leader who has kept his promises and delivered results.
