At last, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has announced plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, before both federal and state high courts over allegations bordering on fraud, abuse of office, and money laundering.
Mr El-Rufai has been held by the anti-graft agency for some times now without charges amid public criticism.
However, in a statement on Tuesday, the anti-graft agency disclosed that El-Rufai, alongside one Joel Adoga, will be arraigned before the Federal High Court in Kaduna on March 24, 2026.
The case, filed under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, includes charges ranging from the conversion and possession of public property to money laundering.
The Commission further revealed that a separate case has also been filed against the former governor at the Kaduna State High Court.
El-Rufai is expected to be charged alongside Amadu Sule, aka LEDA. The suit, marked KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, involves allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and intent to confer undue advantage.
According to the ICPC, both charges were filed on March 18, 2026. While the arraignment date for the state high court case is yet to be fixed, the Commission added that El-Rufai has been duly served.
“The ICPC remains committed to upholding due process and the rule of law at all times,” the statement read.
