The Independent National Electoral Commission appears to have recognised the FCT Minister, Nyelsom Wike-backed National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The development follows INEC’s first quarterly meeting with leaders of political parties, which had in attendance Mohammed and the Acting PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The attendance of the duo implies that INEC has recognized the Wike’s faction of the party.
Recall that the Federal High Court in Ibadan had directed the commission to recognise the Abdulrahman Mohammed led caretaker Committee as the genuine leadership of the party.
