The Chief Electoral Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli has declared the results of Saturday’s Council elections held in the state.
While declaring the results in Port Harcourt, Enebeli said the All People’s Party ,APP, won 22 of the 23 Chairmanship positions.
He said the announcement is suspended in Etche Local Government Area because the collation of results is still ongoing.
He revealed that the results for Etche LGA will be declared alongside that of the 319 councillorship seats at a later date.
The election has been a subject of controversies leading to the refusal of police to provide security for the election.
