Former Chief of Staff to Nentawe Yilwatda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) national Chairman, Mustapha Bala Dawaki, has defected to Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Dawaki dumped the rulling APC barely a week after loosing his return ticket to a consensus candidate.
It is not clear whether the former member of the House of Representatives who represented Dawakin Kudu/Warawa constituency from Kano state will get automatic ticket in his new party, his defection is however coming at a time when the NDC is gearing up to select candidates to represent the party in various positions accross the country.
Confirming Dawaki’s defection, the Media Aide to one of the NDC leaders Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Saifullahi Hassan, said on Monday that the defection took place at Kano Miller Rose residence of Kwankwaso.
“Leader [Kwankwaso] has today accepted the former Chief of Staff to the APC national Chairman, Mustapha Bala Dawaki (Mai Gidan Ruwa) to the NDC Kwankwasiyya,” Kwankwaso’s aide posted on his verified Facebook page.
