The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has set December 1 as the deadline for intending pilgrims to make payment for the 2026 hajj.
According to the board’s spokesman, Muhammad Aliyu, in a statement, the new hajj fare is now N7.69 million, as released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
“Intending Pilgrims who have the intention of performing Hajj through the board should complete payment before the deadline to book for a seat to be part of the religious journey,” said the statement. “All payments to the Board must be via a bank draft as no cash transaction will be entertained.”
Payments made before the deadline would enable the board to compile the actual list of intending pilgrims for the exercise, according to the statement.
It said this would also enable the board to remit all funds to NAHCON on schedule.
It added that the board was negotiating with service providers in Saudi Arabia for the provision of suitable accommodation in Makkah during the 2026 hajj.
It explained that the negotiation was in line with the board’s desire to provide the best services to the FCT contingent.NAN
