The Nigerian government has launched the digital portal ahead of the National Youth Confab promised by President Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu had during the Independence Day broadcast of October 1st, 2024, shortly after assuming office announced his administration’s readiness to engage the youths. He then went ahead to propose 30-day Youth confab scheduled to hold in February 2025, which never held.
Announcing the launch of the portal on Monday, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayode Olawande, said the initiative is “more than just a conference,” adding that the confab is “a generational turning point, a national movement, and a call to action.”
The minister said the portal would enable delegates to register, contribute, and get real-time updates throughout the time of the Confab.
He explained that the Confab will be held through multi-level participation, including young Nigerians in the diaspora, consultation with youths across the 360 Federal constituencies, zonal consultations in six states, and finally a National Conference in Abuja to harmonise recommendations.
He said the Confab with the theme “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future”, will be “inclusive, non-partisan and youth-led.”
