A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo on Sunday in Port Harcourt said the newly elected chairmen, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.
Recall that the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Adolphus Enebeli had on Saturday declared 22 chairmanship candidates of the Action Peoples Party, APP, as winners of the local government elections in the state.
Though, the election was characterised by violence in some areas, but the notable incidence was the refusal of the Nigeria police to provide security for the conduct of the elections, citing court judgement.
