Kogi State government has congratulated the new director-general of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, on his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu on Monday appointed Ajayi as the new DSS chief alongside other heads of the nation’s intelligence agencies.
Ajayi was said to have risen through the ranks, serving as state director in several states, including Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.
His appointment was announced in a statement in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State government hailed Ajayi’s appointment as the new DSS boss as a round peg in a round hole, noting that he has distinguished himself as a man committed to hard work, integrity and competence in the fight against criminality.
Fanwo disclosed that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was delighted with President Tinubu for rewarding talent and brilliance in reshaping the nation’s security architecture.
“The governor of the state, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo commended the president for his eagle-eye talent, spotting prowess for rewarding one of the most brilliant security architects in the country with the well deserved appointment.
“The governor described Mr Ajayi as an astute crime fighter, intelligence gatherer and processor who will ensure that Nigeria hits the right spots to improve security.
