The Nigerian Postal Service has received 350 National Identification Number enrolment devices donated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
KOICA is an aid agency of the government of Republic of Korea, with long standing development partnership with Nigeria since 2008.
The Postmaster General of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, disclosed this when she received KOICA team led by the Country Director, Mr. Eunsub Kim at the NIPOST Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.
According to Odeyemi, the visit which featured official handover of the NIMC certified android enrollment device, marked another milestone in the partnership between NIPOST and KOICA.
Odeyemi who expressed her profound appreciation to KOICA and the government of the Republic of Korea for the generous donation, described the intervention as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s digital future.
She added that the device will significantly enhance NIPOST’s capacity to deliver accessible and inclusive NIN registration services nationwide—particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
She further Stated that the initiative aligns with the federal government’s mandate to provide nationwide access to essential public services.
Speaking during the visit, KOICA Country Director commended NIPOST for its strategic contributions to national digital development.
He said the device were provided under KOICA’s ongoing project tagged “Building Foundations Towards Digital Governance in Nigeria.”
He explained that the device came fully equipped with pre-installed enrolment Software Licenses, alongside training and delivery support to ensure smooth deployment and effective utilization.
Mr. Kim affirms KOICA commitment in supporting Nigeria’s digital governance efforts and ensuring that citizens across the country have easy access to essential identity services.
