Former senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Philip Tanimu Aduda, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
Aduda suffered shocking defeat at the 2023 polls after he was ousted by the Labour Party candidate Ireti Kingibe.
He hope to leverage on his new found relationship with the FCT minister Nyesom Wike, to make a comeback in the 2027 election.
Announcing his resignation in a letter addressed to his ward chairman on Tuesday, Mr Aduda said his decision followed a protracted crisis rocking the opposition party.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party,” the letter read.
The former lawmaker said he remains grateful to the party for the opportunity to serve in various elective positions in the country.
Mr Aduda served two terms in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2011 before being elected as a senator for the FCT in 2011.
