Yet to be ascertained numbers of people have been reportedly killed and many injured following a gun battle between soldiers and gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State
Daily Intel gathered that the attack occurred last night at Aba branch in Ehime Mbano.
Source said “Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” a source claimed. “The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities.”
Residents were said to have fled in panic as constant shootings filled the air, creating a climate of fear and uncertainty.
A resident said “The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next.We are worried, Ehime used to be a serene environment, we dont lnow what is happening.”
Police and Military authorities were yet to release any statement on the incident.
The shootout is the latest in a series of security breaches in Imo State particularly at the local government, sparking concerns about the escalating violence and its impact on civilians.
