Enugu State Senator, Okey Ezea, who represents Enugu North Senatorial District, in the National Assembly has died.
Ezea, popularly known as Ideke, was said to have died on Tuesday while receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
A source close to his family, disclosed that he had earlier undergone treatment in Germany before his condition worsened.
Announcing the passing of the Labour Party lawmaker, a prominent constituent, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, widely known online as “Senator”, said in a Facebook post:
“Sad News. Senator Okey Ezea Representing Enugu North Is Dead… Rest in Peace.”
Ezea was the sole remaining Labour Party member in the National Assembly from Enugu State following the defection of other lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The late Senator had previously contested governorship of the Enugu State under Labour Party, and former Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
