The Nigeria Immigration Service has confirmed that gunmen suspected to be Fulani terrorists attacked its office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, and carted away arms.
According to the NIS, the attack occurred around 10pm on Tuesday, and became public knowledge on Wednesday.
Speaking to SaharaReporters on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the NIS, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, acknowledged that the agency’s facility in Ogbomoso came under attack but said he was still awaiting a comprehensive briefing on the incident.
“I am getting a briefing on this. I will call you back in a few minutes,” Akinlabi said during a telephone conversation with SaharaReporters.
