The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, the youth wing of the apex lgbo Socio-cultural Organization, has accused the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, of orchestrating the technical glitches that resulted in mass failure of candidates from South-east regions, and Igbo students studying in Lagos State.
The organization which called for the immediate sack of JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, in a statement by its President, Igboayaka Igboayaka on Friday, described the Nigerian state as a failed entity.
The statement justified the stance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra ,IPOB, who has called for the creation of a new nation for the Igbo people through non-violent means.
The group stressed that the emergency exam hurriedly scheduled on Friday characterized the chaotic nature of doing things in Nigeria, adding that it is also evidence that Nigeria was designed to fail by its British creators.
“I respectfully urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rescue Nigeria from this international shame and embarrassment and terminate the appointment of JAMB Registrar, Mr. Oloyede, with immediate effect.
“The manipulated mass failure orchestrated by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) against Igbo students in Southeast and Lagos has become a historical precedent where Igbo are perceived as potential victims in Nigeria.
“This outcome and deliberate Exam fraud by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has further justified the stance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who pursued the creation of a new nation for the Igbo people through non-violent means, advocating for the state of Biafra.
“I have always maintained that it’s very easy to use legs and cross the Atlantic Ocean, but it’s a destiny and life threatening task to be an Igbo man in Nigeria. Nigeria was created for the victimization of Ndigbo.” He said.
Ohanaeze stated that it was essential that Mr Oloyede consider the voice of reason and cancel the emergency exam scheduled for 16th May 2025, to allow the completion of WAEC Exams by students.
“Rescheduling the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) within 72hrs, after JAMB Registrar Is-haq Oloyede apologized and admitted errors, demonstrates Mr Oloyede’s insensitivity and Nigeria State over the hardship faced by Nigerians.
”Given the prevailing economic difficulties in Nigeria as masterminded by President Bola Tinubu’s tenure, it is considered insensitive for Mr Oloyede to place additional pressure on parents to arrange logistics for their children with limited notice.” The statement stated
