Following the increasing spate of kidnapping and terrorists attacks accross the country, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja has called on the federal government to expedite action on the establishment of state Police.
Mr Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, made the call on Monday in statement while receiving participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, 2026 of the Institute for Security Studies (NISS ) Bwari, Abuja.
The traditional ruler stressed that the establishment of State Police has become necessary, noting that it would address the level of insecurity across the country.
According to the statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary , Chief Solomon Ayoade, the Olubadan explained that state Police will complement the efforts of other security agencies.
“I call on the Federal Government to expedite action on the establishment of State Police to complement the efforts of other security agencies to ensure the community policing”.
Responding to the call, NISS Director of Studies, Mrs Ibahim Halimah Zanna, who led the team, appreciated the warm reception given to them by the traditional ruler despite the short notice for the visit.
She revealed that they are in Oyo State to undertake a week study tour.
