The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB, has revealed that a total of 1.91 million Nigerians applied to fill 30.000 vacancies in the ongoing recruitment exercise sanctioned by the board.
The board had in a statement called for applications into various positions, stating that no fewer than 30,000 Nigerians would be recruited into the agencies.
However, in a statement on Monday, the Board said instead it has so far received about two million applications, a reflection of the escalating unemployment rate in the country.
According to the statistics released by the board, applicants from Kogi state ranked highest with 116,243, followed by Kaduna and Benue with 114,599 and 110,644 respectively.

According to the board, shortlisted candidates would be contacted soon, with further instructions.
“Please, monitor your email and text messages in the coming weeks, for notifications,” the board stated.
