The Cross River State government on Saturday announced the cancelation of cattle movement permit granted to Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders.
Under the deal previously entered with the state government, the group were permitted to move their cattle from “Ebonyi State, across Cross River State, to Cameroon.”
However, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Ministry of Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development, Ntufam Emmanuel Anom, the state government said the cancellation overrides the previous permit issued to the group.
The statement directed all security agencies in the state to ensure that the directive was carried out.
The statement reads: “The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development, on behalf of the Cross River State Government, hereby announces the cancellation of the movement permit earlier issued to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders for the movement of their cattle from Ebonyi State, across Cross River State, to Cameroon.
“This cancellation supersedes the previously issued permit.
“All security agencies are, by this notice, directed to be vigilant and prevent any such movement through Cross River State.”
