The Independent National Electoral Commission ,NEC, has registered two new political parties.
The development is coming after the commission was accused of resisting registration of new parties.
According to a statement posted on the commission’s website on Tuesday, and signed by A.C Ogakwu, INEC Secretary, the two newly registered parties are Independent Democrats (ID) Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM).
The statement said the action is” in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as Amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (as Amended).
“The Constitution, Manifesto, Logo/Flag and list of National Executive Officers of each party have also been approved by the Commission.”
