The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said that the Commission received 49,673 petitions between October 1, 2023, and July 31, 2026, under the chairmanship of Ola Olukoyede.
Out of the total petition received, the EFCC investigated 39,615 cases, charged 14,476 cases to court, where it secured 10,872 convictions.
The commission disclosed this in a video shared on its official X account on Thursday, in which it highlighted the Commission’s activities over the 34-month period.
The EFCC also disclosed that it recovered ₦1.233 trillion in just 34 months, describing the fit as “the legacy of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede.”
The commission said the figures represented its efforts in tackling various forms of financial crimes.
“But what do these numbers represent?” the EFCC asked.
“They represent the fight against financial crimes—from advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud, and economic governance fraud,”
it stated.
The commission added that behind each figure was an investigation and the recovery of funds.
“And behind every number is a case investigated, a financial trail uncovered, and public resources recovered to keep pushing the fight against economic and financial crimes forward,” it said.
The EFCC concluded the video by saying, “The work continues.”
