The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has highlighted Nigeria’s investment-friendly reforms and called on international oil and gas companies to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the country.
The Board’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, Dr Obinna Ezeobi, made the call at a strategic leadership roundtable held during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. He represented the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr Felix Omatsola Ogbe.
The roundtable, which had as its theme, “Delivering the Energy the World Needs: Recalibrating Upstream Projects,” brought together 21 global industry leaders to deliberate on issues bordering on the future of the energy industry.
In his remarks, Dr Ezeobi highlighted NCDMB’s core mandate of developing Nigerian human and material capacities and ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.
He also disclosed that Nigeria’s oil and gas industry had attracted international investments and projects valued at over $10 billion within the past three years, attributing the growth to targeted Executive Orders and strategic incentives introduced by the Tinubu administration.
He noted that sustained engagement and collaboration among NCDMB, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and NNPC Limited had also helped build investor confidence and supported recent final investment decisions in the industry.
The leadership roundtable served as an important platform for industry leaders to deliberate on collaborative solutions aimed at meeting rising energy demands and strengthening the sector.
NCDMB also used its presence at the 2026 conference to explain Nigeria’s local content processes to stakeholders and attract more investment into the industry. Among the notable dignitaries at the gathering were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Chairman of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), Engr Wole Ogunsanya.
Lokpobiri urged NCDMB to work with relevant agencies to showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities at major international conferences.
