The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving the disbursement of bursary allowances to students studying at various tertiary institutions in the country for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Abel Bala, commended the State Scholarship Board on Monday when its management appeared before the committee in Lafia to present its budget performance for the second quarter of 2026.
Mr Bala said the payment of bursary allowances has helped many students, reducing the burden of school fees on their parents and improving the standard of education. He also commended Gov. Sule for his efforts in developing the education sector in Nasarawa.
He said Mr Sule deserved commendation for prioritising the education sector in the state. Mr Bala said the oversight function was to ensure that ministries, departments and agencies in Nasarawa did the right things.
Mr Bala also commended the executive secretary of the board, Sa’adatu Yahaya, and her team for their good performance.
