There are indication that all passengers and crew members onboard the crashed India airline are feared killed.
Speaking with The Associated Press., Commissioner G.S. Malik said, “It appears there are no survivors in the plane crash,”
He added that with the plane crashing in a residential area with offices, “some locals would have also died.”
“Exact figures on casualties are being ascertained,” he said.
Daily Intel reported that the flight enroute to the United Kingdom from India crashed near the Ahmedabad airport with more than 240 people on board.
According to a statement by the airline, the Boeing 787-8 aircraft crashed moment after take-off on Thursday.
“The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 13:38 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft, the airline said in a statement posted on social media. “Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals.”
