The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged Nigerian students to take an active role in the fight against corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity.
The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, made the call on Monday, November 2, 2026, through the Acting Zonal Director of the Kano Zonal Directorate, ACE I Friday S. Ebelo, at the 2026 National Association of Finance Students (NAFS) Conference held at Bayero University, Kano.
In a paper titled The Role of the EFCC in Combating Financial Crimes and Promoting Financial Integrity in Nigeria, Olukoyede outlined the Commission’s mandate, strategies for preventing financial crimes and the use of technology in tackling economic and financial offences.
He also highlighted the importance of financial integrity and public enlightenment in preventing corruption.
The EFCC chairman said young people had an important role to play in the fight against corruption, urging students to support the Commission’s efforts and become active advocates of accountability and transparency.
The Commission said its participation in the conference reflected the importance of youth involvement, institutional collaboration and public awareness in building a society founded on integrity.
