Former Ondo State governor Olusegun Mimiko has formally joined the rulling All Progressive Congress APC.
Mimiko who arrived at the Ondo West local government APC secretariat, was received into the party by the APC chairman in the state, Mr. Babatunde Kolawole and the speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt (Hon), Olamide Oladiji.
The two-term former governor of Ondo had in April resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending long-running speculation over his political affiliation.
The former governor, who governed the state between 2009 and 2017, had previously been a prominent figure in the Labour Party (LP) before moving to the PDP, where he also played influential roles at both state and national levels.
His move to the APC after a long rest in politics marks a significant comeback where his political experience, grassroots appeal and established network would be brought to bare, particularly in Ondo Central Senatorial District, where he remains a dominant figure.
