Germany has introduced a new online visa application portal aimed at simplifying application process in Nigeria.
In a video shared on the German Embassy Nigeria’s X, the new portal will make visa application more accessible, efficient, and secure.
The video also took users through the application process, while highlighting the types of visas that can be processed through the system.
According to the video, the new system allows applicants to begin and manage their visa requests digitally through its Consular Services platform.
With the portal, users can submit applications, upload required documents, and track progress without the need for multiple in-person visits to embassies or visa centres.
The move reflects Germany’s broader push to digitise consular services and improve the user experience for applicants worldwide, including those in Nigeria.
“The Consular Service Portal is an online application system for selected visas where you upload your documents on the portal. We pre-check to ensure it is complete, then invite you for an in-person appointment either at the Consulate in Lagos or at VFS for student visas. So you can use the online portal for student visas, researcher visas, work-related visas, or language courses.” the video stated.
