Former Super Eagles striker, Michael Eneramo, has reportedly died after collapsing on the field.
The incident occurred on Friday, when the former international slumped and died during a football match in Kaduna.
Eneramo, 40, was said to be featuring at the Angwan Yelwa pitch in the Television area of Kaduna when he suddenly collapsed.
Prior to the tragic incident, he was said to have came on as a substitute in the second half before collapsing without any contact.
According to source who spoke to SCORENigeria: “He slumped and died right on the spot. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
“He was pronounced dead at the hospital.”
Eneramo, who had retired from professional football, previously played for several clubs, including Besiktas of Turkey, Tunisian side Esperance, and Nigerian club Lobi Stars.
Before his death, he was said to be running a football academy.
Meanwhile, the official Super Eagles X handle mourned the former striker on Friday, posting his picture with the caption, “Rest in peace Michael.”
