Youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) Worldwide, has thrown its weight behind Bar. Aloy Ejimakor, for instituting a defamation lawsuit against Lolo Nneka Chimezie, over her defamatory remarks against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
In a statement on Thursday, by Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka, National President General Ohanaeze Youth Council, the group recalled that “Lolo Nneka Chimezie has appeared in multiple viral videos making defamatory allegations against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”
Ohanaeze expressed regrets that these allegations was “aimed at tarnishing the private life of the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was recently illegally tried and illegally convicted by the Federal High Court in Abuja under incompetent Justice James Omotoso, a legal process the world have described as unlawful and lacking due process.”
Ohanaeze praised Ejimakor for the swift legal action initiated against Chimezie, noting that the move demonstrates Kanu’s legal team’s readiness to confront, through legal means, any agents, in any disguise, who seek to subvert the Biafra Self-determination project under Kanu’s leadership.
Comrade Igboayaka warned some Igbos with questionable patrilineage to desist from making unguarded comments about Kanu’s personal and private life, insisting that Kanu has paid and is still paying the price for the liberation of Ndigbo who have been marginalized in Nigeria.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has paid a high price for the sake of Biafra’s restoration, and his human fallibility will not impede the actualization of Biafra. Thus, those who demand perfection from Nnamdi Kanu must first secure their own canonization of sainthood from the Roman Catholic Pope before finding fault in him” Igboayaka stated.
Comrade Igboayaka cautioned that authentic Biafra agitators and sympathizers who have identified mistakes within the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s leadership should discreetly convey their corrections or advice in a manner that fosters unity, love, and genuineness, rather than resorting to public outbursts that may be perceived as sabotage or betrayal to the cause.
He advised pro-biafran groups and individuals who are not satisfied with IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to leave IPOB with a progressive mindset and establish their own group, stressing that Ndigbo will welcome any pro-Biafran group whose agenda is Biafra Restoration.
